Part of folder labeled "JA community programs, brochures, and fliers." Contains documents related to the opening of Japanese American Historical Plaza in August 1990 as well as the coinciding Greater Portland Reunion. Includes: - a commemorative dedication booklet published by the Oregon Nikkei Endowment - list of additional contributors to the plaza - letter encouraging donations - program for the August 3rd dedication ceremony (The document above are stored in a manilla envelope labeled "Ochiai, Kaz: Japanese Historical Plaza") - welcome newsletter for the reunion - a program for the August 4th Reunion Banquet at the Red Lion Inn published by Japan Airlines Yoshio Hasuike, Nobuko (Ochiai) Susaki, and Kazuo Ochiai are listed in the Endowment booklet as donors to the Plaza. Kazuo Ochiai is also credited in the "Okaerinasai--Welcome Home" booklet, which contains maps and remembrances of Old Japantown from 1940-1990, as one who helped "show [the authors] what it looked like." |
