Folder contains three documents related to siblings' Kazuo and Shizuko Ochiai's time in Minidoka concentration camp. Document 1 is an envelope with the Social Security number of Shizuko Ochiai. The card was issued in August of 1945, while Shizuko was incarcerated in Minidoka. The card bears Shizuko's signature and is stapled to a pamphlet explaning how to use a Social Security card. Document 2 is a Special Travel Permit issued by the War Relocation Authority (WRA) for Kazuo Ochiai. The permit is dated July 20th, 1943, and allowed Kazuo to temporarily leave his work in Spokane to Franklin County, WA in order to continue employment with the SP&S Railroad. Document 3 is a termination notice for Kazuo Ochiai dated April 18th, 1943. The notice lists his reason for termination as "Satisfactory -- Leaving Project." His payroll title reads "Dispensary Clerk." |
